What does it mean to be an Episcopalian?

The Episcopal Church is the expression of Anglican Christianity unique to the United States.

Anglicanism came about during the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century in England and the Episcopal Church emerged in the United States after the Revolutionary War. The word Episcopal relates to our form of church government. The Episcopal Church is governed by bishops who we believe remain in apostolic succession.
