Christ Church Plymouth Food Pantry

We are called as a parish and as volunteers to provide safe, nutritious food to the food insecure individuals and families in our diverse community.

Christ Church Food Pantry (CCFP) is one of the largest food programs in the Plymouth area. The pantry serves approximately 200 individuals – adults, children and seniors per month – that’s over 2400 clients throughout the year. We welcome our food insecure neighbors from Plymouth and nearby communities.

The Pantry is operated and staffed by volunteers from Christ Church parish as well as committed individuals from the Plymouth area, making it a truly community endeavor.  Our team of more than 50 volunteers take phone orders from clients for each of our four weekly shifts, staff those shifts and bag orders, unload monthly deliveries from the Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB), stock shelves and inventory supplies, and shop locally for essential items.

Hours:

The Christ Church Food Pantry is open at the times listed below to serve clients by appointment

  • Tuesday 4:00-5:15pm
  • Thursday 12:00-1:15pm and 4:00-5:15pm
  • Saturday 10:00-11:15am

Please call us at least 24 hours in advance at 508-746-4959, ext 6, to leave a message with your name and phone number.  A volunteer will call back to take your order and schedule a time for pick up.

We partner with GBFB, from which we receive more than 90% of our supplies, and the South Shore Community Action Council's (SSCAC) Food Distribution Center to keep our pantry stocked with staples along with as much nutritious produce and dairy as possible. We purchase from GBFB at cost or at greatly reduced prices. SSCAC items are free to us.  Donations from the parish and community make up the other 10% of our inventory.

Due to the increased cost of supplies and consistent with our mission to assist the food insecure of our community, CCFP is currently purchasing only food items.  We are, therefore, requesting that the parish and community donors consider providing non-food items, such as personal care products, or food that is not regularly available from GBFB but is very popular with our clients. Below is a list of suggested items you may wish to donate. Please do not donate anything with an expiration date before 2022. A collection basket is located in the church entryway and donations may also be made directly to the Pantry during hours of operation.

Plastic shopping bags (for bagging produce)
Canned chicken
Pork and beans
Chef Boyardee (or similar brand)
Ravioli and/or spaghetti
Ramen noodles
