About Prepared Communion

Every year, second grade learners are invited to join in Prepared Communion, learning about the different aspects of the worship services of the Episcopal church. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, and the need for in-person learning, this class was not offered for the past two years. For 2022, there will be an expanded version for second through fifth grade learners. The first class meets on Sunday, March 6th, at 9:30am.

Prepared Communion is similar to the Roman Catholic First Holy Communion preparation. Some children in the Episcopal Church have received communion from a very early age while others wait until they are in second grade; both ways are common, acceptable, and a choice of the parents.
